The i3S is the variant most people skip and shouldn't. It is ₹1,133 over the base bike and it shuts the engine off at red lights. In Delhi traffic that pays for itself.

Second hand Splendor price by year

Here is the part the spec sites don't publish. These are asking prices for a used Splendor observed across two Delhi listing platforms in September 2026. Asking prices, not transacted prices, and the two platforms do not always agree.

Most Splendor bikes for sale in Delhi sit in the ₹30,000 to ₹65,000 band. Two things fall out of that table.

The first is that Splendor resale value is unusually strong. A 2019 bike asking around ₹50,000 against a ₹90,199 on-road new price is roughly 55% of its money still on the table after seven years. Very few 100cc commuters hold that.

The second is the spread, and it is the more useful of the two. Look at the 2023–2024 row: ₹56,000 to ₹90,000 for bikes one model year apart. Orange Book Value puts a good-condition 2023 Splendor Plus i3S in Delhi at about ₹60,700 to ₹64,500, which means some of those sellers are ₹5,000 under book and others are ₹15,000 over it. Nothing about the listing tells you which one you are looking at.

Pull the book value for the exact year, variant and odometer reading before you make an offer. It costs nothing and it is the only number in the conversation that isn't the seller's.

What ₹15,000, ₹25,000 and ₹40,000 actually buy?

Under ₹15,000. People search for this band constantly. On the Delhi platforms we checked in September 2026, the floor was about ₹18,000 for a pre-2015 bike. Below that you are into unregistered transfers, expired PUC and an engine that has never seen a scheduled service. Buying one is a project, not transport.

₹20,000 to ₹30,000. A 2012–2016 old Splendor bike with 50,000 km or more on it. Mechanically these can be fine. The Splendor engine is famously long-lived. What kills the deal at this price is paperwork: multiple owners, a lost RC, a hypothecation that was never cleared.

₹35,000 to ₹45,000. The sweet spot for a used Splendor. 2017–2019, one or two owners, an odometer under 45,000 km, and a bike recent enough that parts and service records still exist.

₹50,000 and up. A 2021+ BS6 fuel-injected bike, often with i3S. At ₹65,000 to ₹70,000 you are within ₹20,000 of a brand new Splendor Plus, and the new bike comes with a warranty. Work out whether that ₹20,000 is worth more to you than five years of somebody else's maintenance history.

Splendor mileage: the claim and the reality

Hero claims 70 kmpl for the Splendor Plus, measured on E20 fuel under test conditions. Owner-reported figures land around 63 kmpl.

A 10% gap between the brochure and the street is small. Most 100cc commuters do worse than that, and the Splendor mileage figure holds up better than most as the bike ages.

On a used Splendor the number does a different job. Ask the seller what the bike actually returns, then ask him how he knows. A tank-to-tank figure means he has been paying attention to it. "Around 60, 65" means he has not, and the service book is now the more interesting document.

A Splendor returning well below what its own owner used to get is telling you something. Most of the time it is the air filter, the spark plug or tyre pressure, and all three are cheap to put right. Occasionally it is not.

112 kg and a 785 mm seat is a large part of why the Splendor has been India's best-selling motorcycle for most of its life. Anyone can flat-foot it and anyone can pick it up.

Splendor models: which variants are worth the money?

The Splendor range runs wider than most buyers realize, and the differences are smaller than the badges suggest.

Splendor Plus is the base bike and the one the used market is built on. Everything below is a version of it.

Splendor Plus i3S adds Idle Start-Stop. Worth ₹1,133 in city traffic.

Splendor Plus XTEC brings the digital cluster, Bluetooth and a USB charging port. Worth it if you want the phone connectivity. It does not change how the bike rides. The disc-brake XTEC at ₹84,326 is the most expensive Splendor you can buy, and the front disc is the only one of these upgrades that changes anything you'd notice at speed.

Splendor Plus XTEC 2.0 is the latest model in the range, with updated instrumentation over the XTEC. If you are searching for a Splendor new model, this is the one you mean.

None of these features change the second hand Splendor price much. Condition and paperwork do.

What to check before you buy a used Splendor?

Ten minutes with the bike, in this order.

Step 1: Start it cold. Not after the seller has warmed it up for you. A cold 97.2cc engine tells the truth. It should settle to idle without ticking.

Step 2: Pull the dipstick. Thick or milky oil means water in the engine, and that bike is somebody else's problem.

Step 3: Match the numbers. Chassis and engine numbers against the RC. Not roughly. Exactly.

Step 4: Check the hypothecation. If the Splendor was financed, the loan has to be closed and the bank NOC attached. No NOC, no deal.

Step 5: Listen to the chain. Ride it slowly and listen at the rear wheel. A slapping sound means the chain sprocket set is finished.

Step 6: Squeeze the forks. Oil film on the front suspension tubes means the seals are weeping.

Step 7: Look at the frame. Re-welding, mismatched paint or misaligned panels means a crash nobody mentioned.

Step 8: Test every electrical. Headlight, indicators, horn, cluster, self-start. Splendor wiring is simple and cheap to fix, which is exactly why sellers leave it broken.

Step 9: Check the tyres. 80/100-18 both ends. Uneven wear points at alignment or a bent fork.

Step 10: Look up the book value. Before you name a price, not after.

The mistake to avoid: buying on the odometer. A 30,000 km Splendor with no service records is a worse bike than a 60,000 km one with a stamped book. Buy the better-maintained Splendor, not the lower number.

Old Splendor and Hero Honda Splendor: what you are really buying?

Search "Hero Honda Splendor" and you are looking at a 2005–2012 bike. The Hero Honda badge came off in 2011.

Those bikes are still everywhere and still running, and that is genuinely the point. But at fifteen years old you are buying a frame and a paperwork trail, not a warranty. Check the RC status with the RTO before money moves. An old Splendor with a dead registration is scrap with wheels.
